“Our current facility is three separate manufactured homes that were donated to us and assembled into one structure back in 1996. They are past their prime, inefficient as it relates to energy usage, and difficult to keep clean to our standards. We’ve experienced electrical issues, major plumbing issues, structural issues, termites and more over the years. In order to provide an environment that is safe and comfortable for the pets, staff and visitors, as well as easy to disinfect and clean for the health and well-being of the animals we rescue, we desperately need a new facility. Additionally, we need more space so we can save more pets each year and give the long-term stay animals a comparable environment in terms of comfort and mental stimulation.”

HAPPY TAILS TESTIMONIES
“We adopted Parker from the CTSPCA after our basset passed away. We loved visiting the dogs and interacting with them for as long as we needed. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to our schedule. After a few months, we realized that Parker needed a companion and the first place we looked was the CTSPCA. We met Egypt and were able to spend enough time to get to know her. The staf remembered that we adopted Parker and felt that Egypt would be a good match. When Parker and Egypt met for the first time, they played like old friends and spent the rest of the day playing. Egypt follows Parker around now and they still play together. Adopting from the CTSPCA was two of our best decisions we've made.

From a frightened little pup that was kept in a hoarding breeding situation with dozens of other dogs, afraid of everyone, refusing to be touched, to hanging out with the yard crew. She’s continued in her journey to become confident and expressive. She’s more trusting and playful now when she was bare full, and shut down before. Knowing how she was when we first met her, I could see a lot of organizations overlooking her, but she’s a gem!

“We adopted a terrier mix named Skipper from the Central Texas SPCA in 2015. Not long after that, I joined the Central Texas SPCA Board, and served on it for several years. During that time, I would help with promoting the shelter and its events and post to social media on the shelter's Twitter account. One evening, I was going through photos of dogs up for adoption and spotted Ewok's picture. I mentioned to my husband and the girls how cute it was that this little dog was named Ewok. We happen to be big Star Wars fans. As soon as my daughters saw the picture, they told me we needed to adopt him. We set up an appointment for Skipper to meet Ewok and they hit it off instantly. I didn't think we needed another dog at the time, but as soon as we saw them together, we knew it was meant to be, and we couldn't be happier. We're forever thankful to the Central Texas SPCA for helping us complete our family.”
